[jitsi-dev] Jitsi 2.2 and Windows 7 Home premium

#1

Hi Developers!

Recently installed Jitsi 2.2 on my Windows 7 Home premium, and I've not
been able to open it up because as soon as it tries to launch, it reports
it has crashed (see screenshot). Clicking on relaunch shows the same error
message again and again.

I'm not sure if there's an error log that I could provide or run something
similar to strace on a Windows computer. Is there any error log I can take
a look at and/or send the devs?

This also occurred with Jitsi 2.1. I'm positive this is an issue with my
computer because it runs on a different computer with Windows 7 Home
Premium without any issue.

Best,
Sean

Sean,

The logs are in the user profile directory. On Windows 7 this is
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Jitsi\log

Sean,

I can't tell from the log what might be wrong, but I don't really know
much about Jitsi yet. Do you have any webcams or microphones plugged
into the computer? If so, unplug them all to see if Jitsi starts up.

Yeah, there wasn't a blatantly obvious error message to me. Since this is a
laptop, I'll unplug all devices and try opening it.

New log file without anything connected to machine except power:
http://pastiebin.com/5184ed4a0f6cd

It seems like Java is crashing in the background while the audio system is initialized. Could you look out for a file named hs_err*.log in your temp-Directory and show it to us?

Could you please try deleting/renaming jnportaudio.dll and let us know
whether that allows Jitsi to start?
