[jitsi-dev] Jitmeet screen sharing extension

#1

Hi Developers and Peter,

Continuing on from the thread Peter submitted[0] in regards to file
sharing, I still cannot get screensharing to function with the Jitsi
extension diibjkoicjeejcmhdnailmkgecihlobk.

What you two say makes perfect sense but in my case, nothing happens
when modifying my manifest.json file for extension
diibjkoicjeejcmhdnailmkgecihlobk.

Attached are config.js and manifest.json for extension
diibjkoicjeejcmhdnailmkgecihlobk.

I even tried extension niacdicmolmgddbjcbihejlnokcakgbh for
jitsi.tools.ietf.org and I get the same results, screensharing does
not work on my domain. I have useStunTurn disabled but I don't think
that prevents screensharing.

Is is possible for Jitsi to share what steps were taken to publish the
Jitsi extension?

Have you got the extension to work in your case, Peter? If so could
you provide the same two files I've attached?

Thanks,
jungle

Chrome's console reports:
Failed to install the extension Installs can only be initiated by one
of the Chrome Web Store item's verified sites
Failed to obtain the stream to switch to Installs can only be
initiated by one of the Chrome Web Store item's verified sites
getSwitchStreamFailed
(anonymous function)
Installer.onInstallResponse

So it appears you can't download the Jitsi extension and then modify
the manifest to include your own domain.

Can Jitsi share the source of the Jitsi extension and a method to
publish to google chrome's store?

Thanks,
Jungle

hello all,

I've reported this problem already, and since it is persistent, I am
attaching session log here in case it can help to debug.
The etherpad says "loading" and it never loads. This happens every time
I use meet.jit.si and the same is reported by my colleague with the same
SW setting:

Cromium Version 34.0.1847.116 Ubuntu 14.04 aura (260972)

Thanks beforehand for any eventual hint on how to solve this.

Can you open Jitsi Meet's etherpad if you load it directly?

With exactly the same Chromium version 34.0.1847.116 (Developer Build
260972) under Debian 7.4 Jessie I open the pad w/out a problem. Do you
have any extensions installed that could be blocking something? If so,
could you try without them?

No extensions but found the problem. Chromium blocked cookies on
etherpad.jit.si . I am not sure why and I actually had to not only
"always allow it" through the graphical icon menu that shows in the
navigation bar, but had to go to cookies settings, click on
etherpad.jit.si, allow it there and restart. This happened by default,
my chromium settings is standard and afaik I didn't set blocking cookies.

Anyway, this was the cause if anyone experience the same.

Thanks all for your help
