[jitsi-dev] Jigasi on Centos 7.2 fails with the audio handler

#1

Hi,

After having successfully tested jigasi on windows i've tried to install jigasi as a service on centos 7.2 .
Actually i can call via freeswitch to jigasi (on centos) and i see a peer connected on jitsi-meet but it disappears immediately and the call is ended.

The problem comes most likely from these lines of log :

Oct 13 13:46:42 TEST-V2 jigasi.sh[3147]: Oct 13, 2016 1:46:42 PM net.sf.fmj.media.Log error

(i joined the full logs)

With jigasi running on windows i haven't this problem.

Any help is welcome. Thanks!

Hi,

I have seen this problem multiple times and I do not remember what is
the cause of it and how people fixed it. Also check and other
components for errors.
Sometimes I have seen exception in RTPSessionMgr because of a problem
in /etc/hosts. Check:
http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/dev/2015-September/025219.html. But
maybe this is not relevant to your problem, just a shoot in the dark.

Hey Devs,

we are using jitsi meet regular with 8-15 people. Some have terrible
internet. They report that they see the pictures but hear the audio
really choppy. Would it be possible for those users to only receive
audio and not waste the little bandwitch for useless videos?

Thank you very much and keep up the great work!

Thank you Damian,
I think this is a missing native lib dependency for jigasi.
May be i need to install something other that needed jars. What the debian package needs as native dependancy?

An other point i've noticed: Is there way to make jigasi keep trying to register when it fails the first time (for example the Registrar has not yet started). Because now if it fails it stops trying I also noticed that jigasi failes to reRegister if the Registrar restarts or other.

Thanks for you support

King regards,
Arthur

Hi,

Well the person that starts the conference can click start muted video
and all that join after that will be with video muted. This is the
current option that you can use and be in audio only conference.

If there is such a problem you should see it in the log file while loading.

An other point i've noticed: Is there way to make jigasi keep trying to

jigasi failes to reRegister if the Registrar restarts or other.

Generally, there is a reconnection plugin which should do all this work ...
No that I think of it, maybe it start the reconnection process once there
was one successful, this that way cause when you are adding new account in
jitsi it may have wrong settings and we do not want to reconnect forever
with wrong settings. These needs further debugging and investigation, time
that we haven't planned for jigasi, so any contribution is welcome.

Hi,

thank you for the quick answer. As far as I know thats global, and as
soon as somebody activates video, everyone sees it. What I meant was
only some person should have audio only conferences. The other like to
see each other. If you help me how(/where) I could modify it, i will try
to build it in.

Have a great day!

Hi,

I see what you mean, this is very helpful when also joining from
mobile phone and you want only to listen/talk. I think we have similar
thing on the roadmap for the mobile part, maybe we can just think and
add it and to the web.

OK will take the time to analyse the problem.
BTW i solved my first problem: after a hard packet tracking i understood that he problem is linked with this https://github.com/jitsi/jigasi/issues/34

I had the right version (1.2) of java-sdp-nist-bridge for jigasi but needed to link that same version with jvb and jicofo.

thank you

Arthur
