[jitsi-dev] Jigasi h264 support + DTMF

#1

Hi,

I've just started playing with Jitsi Meet and Jigasi.

From the little testing I've done so far audio calls to a SIP server (and on to a SIP client) from Jitsi Meet seem to work fine.

But I'd like to pass video on too (H264 specifically).

I understand (from the email archive) that Jigasi doesn't support video at present, but are there any plans for adding the capability in the near future?

Also can a WebRTC user pass DTMF from Jitsi Meet out to a SIP server e.g. to drive an IVR menu etc.?

Thanks in advance,

IanG

Hi,

DTMF is supported, but there is currently no UI in jitsi-meet to
handle that. Adding video to jigasi is a lot of work as you have read,
we have covered part of it in one of the gsoc projects this year.
We worked on another approach in using jibri in combination with pjsua
to handle that (https://github.com/jitsi/jibri), but setting up those
is not a trivial task at the moment and we will be working on clearing
it, writing more docs and automating this, but there is no ETA for
that at the moment. That approach doesn't have any DTMF handling at
the moment.
