[jitsi-dev] Is GET conference required for identifying a channel before patching?

#1

https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0340.html states:

"- an ID that is necessary for any further modification from that the focus wants to set on a channel. [FIXME: clients should be able to specify these id-s so as not to rely on ordering to identify channels and get complexes thinking they are SDP parsers]"

The FIXME seems not to be implemented. Is this correct?

Currently, the only way to patch a channel, is "GET conference", find the channelIds, then "PATCH conference".

Or is there a better way to do that?

Correct.

the channelIds, then "PATCH conference".

The response to the request to create a channel should include the channel's ID, so the "GET conference" step can be skipped.
