[jitsi-dev] ice4j releases

#1

Hello.

There have been a few request to release a new official ice4j version. Since
I uploaded 1.0 to Maven Central in April 2016, there has been no update.
Development activity on ice4j is comparatively low and I would therefore
suggest to:
1. Switch to sematic versioning
2. Merge https://github.com/jitsi/ice4j/issues/95 to enforce this
3. Deploy snapshots to Maven Central (we have a Jenkins user for this)
4. Release whatever version used in a Jitsi Meet stable-combo-release also
to Maven Central

I've added these suggestions to https://github.com/jitsi/ice4j/issues/95. To
the Jitsi developers: please vote there with thumbs up/down (and leave
comments).

Ingo,
The team may also want to very seriously consider the switch to full-on
Java 8; anything less is beyond end-of-life at this point.

Best Regards,
Paul

Ingo,
The team may also want to very seriously consider the switch to full-on Java
8; anything less is beyond end-of-life at this point.

Releasing ice4j has nothing to do with Java 8.

Paul
