[jitsi-dev] How to connect between Jitsi Desktop and Jitsi-meet?

#1

Hi team,

I want to know how to connect between the Jitsi Desktop and Jitsi-meet.

I've already set up the server side with prosody, jicofo and jvb. The
Jitsi-meet works both on web and mobile version. About the Jitsi Desktop.
I've set it up and login via XMPP into my own server that set up before.

When testing, all user uses Jitsi Desktop can call and chat each other
normally. When I click on File -> Add chat room and input:
"testroom@conference.mydomain. I can see all the participant and can chat
with all of them. But when I accept the video call, I can't see the webcam
and can't hear the audio from Jitsi Desktop to Jitsi-meet. About the log of
jvb, it's show:

JVB 2018-05-04 10:45:21.176 INFO: [157]
org.ice4j.ice.ConnectivityCheckClient.log() Pair failed:

Could you please tell me how to connect between Jitsi Desktop and
Jitsi-meet.

Thank you so much.

Hi Nam,

Using jitsi desktop to join jitsi-meet conference is not possible and
probably will never be. The client implementation lacks many features and
this is a substantial amount of work, talking in years of development,
while this is already available in browsers, so the option of opening an
URL in the browser is the best option.

Hi Damencho,
According to your reply, jitsi desktop does not support video conference at
all? But from the definition of the project desktop, I do see this feature.
Or I miss something here ?
Thanks
Son

Hi again,

I just said that jitsi desktop cannot join jitst-meet conference. Jitsi
desktop has video conference abilities, but the recomended video conference
experience is jitsi-meet.
