[jitsi-dev] how to build android apk from source code?

#1

Dear all,
I'm downloading source code by running: svn checkout https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi.git

And I'm trying to make an android apk and investigate how to develop on android phones. Can anyone help? I'm new to jitsi.

  thank you!

Best regards,
sam

Hello Sam,

You have mistaken the repo, to start with. The android project is here:

https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-android.git

Is there a reason why you don't want to use git to obtain the sources? I mean, like this:

git clone https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-android.git

You also need to download the Android SDK from here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

Extract the SDK somewhere in your hard disk, for example in /opt/android-sdk-linux

Then you enter the folder where you cloned the sources and do something like this:

ant -Dsdk.dir=/opt/android-sdk-linux clean setup-libs compile release
