[jitsi-dev] How to add support for TCP to ice4j code

Hi

Kindly please provide me stack code for implementation of TCP in
ice4j[ICE/TURN/STUN]. Kindly please sample apps and some links as well.

Hello,

When installing build 3294 (Windows XP exe for x86), I get “Couldn’t find
the main class. Program will exit”.

Since I have many JVM installed on my machine, I am asking whether SC
requires a specific one but I could not find the information. I have several
JVM 6 in the Program Files/Java, a JAVA_HOME set to a JVM 1.4.

My question is How is the JVM found for launching SC? Is there a way to
specifiy the JVM path?

Thanks for your help,

Bruno

Try to unset it or to set it to one of the Java 6 versions that you
have. Please let us know how it goes.

I edited a run.bat with:

set JAVA_HOME=**java6**
run.exe

and the SC launches ok.

I do not remember having to do that before. I need the JAVA_HOME for my
other tool development...

Has anything changed about this?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, and more changes are to come. We are using a launcher of our own
now and we are also going to start using the JRE that ships with SC in
order to avoid exactly that kind of problems.

Until we're done with this (should be in the following days or week).
You could simply copy a JRE in the jre folder inside SIP Communicator.

As Lubomir pointed out, this will be used with higher preference than
system JREs

Hope this helps,
Emil

My question is How is the JVM found for launching SC?

The directory of run.exe (e.g. if the application is installed in
C:\Program Files\SIP Communicator, it will look for a private Java
Runtime Environment installation in C:\Program Files\SIP
Communicator\jre), the well-known environment variables such as
JAVA_HOME and JDK_HOME, the Windows registry and the PATH.

Is there a way to specifiy the JVM path?

Not as a command line argument, only via the well-known environment
variables.

Hello,

Upgrading to 3295 is indeed better for SIP registration but still problems can be observed. My SIP account cannot make calls, it cannot answer incoming calls while it is notified of it. It seems that any action from my account is ignored. I provide the log if it can help.

Thanks again for helping

Your log shows an exception related to the support Microsoft Outlook
(multiple times) which I've heard of once but I still don't understand
how the Java execution could reach there. As a workaround, please
delete lib\native\jmsoutlookaddrbook.dll.

With build 3295, I initiate a SIP call between 801 and 803 (I am 803). 801
can hear me. I can't hear 801.

I still see the image animated stating that sound is incoming into the loud
speaker. If I make a record, the voice is there in the mp3 file when I
listen to it. How is it that I cannot hear in realtime? I have attached the
log. At 12:33 I make a call to 801.

Thanks for your help.

We'll probably need to look at the files in the %APPDATA%\SIP
Communicator\log folder.

Well, one usually stands a higher chance of getting an answer if they
ask on the dev mailing list because multiple developers receive their
e-mail.

I guess we should open an issue because Damencho told me about it a
long time ago and we've been talking about it a few times and we still
don't know what the cause may be. I'll open an issue (later today).

I would suggest:

"Si vous poursuivez la mise à jour, l'application va être redémarrée.
Voulez-vous poursuivre?"

Anyway, I have noticed that some text is not translated, for example when
you want to change the photo: you have "recent pictures" instead of "Images
récentes". You also have the box inviting you to select your image that is
not translated (except the cancel button)... This is normal since the
version is alpha I presume!

Point 2:

Then, after accepting to restart the application, I still get the message:

"La classe n'existe pas!" (the class does not exist)

However, everything seems to go ok. I can't explain why this message since
as you may remember, I have copied a jre into the SC directory. This jre
directory is indeed there when the application restarts but maybe is the
restart made from another location...?

Point 3:
--------
I don't know if it is normal but I don't see the only group (for my sip
account) I have created. If I try to create it again, it is rejected because
the group exists. If I enter a digit which is the start of a contact in that
group in the input number box, then the group appears below. Again, I may be
mistaking somewhere but I don't know where.

Well, that's all.

If you need logs let me know.

It seems that it not possible to register a SIP account with this build.

3297 was working properly. When I installed 3301, my SIP account (unchanged)
which BTW hasn't got any password failed to connect.

Hi again,

can you check your logs for exceptions, or send the logs so we can
check what is the problem.

Thanks

3297 was working properly. When I installed 3301, my SIP account (unchanged)
which BTW hasn't got any password failed to connect.

Hello Damian,

Yes, that's what I should have done before, since I still have my problem
with the jmsoutlookaddrbook.dll that I must rename after each new
installation. This time I have simply omitted to do so. Well this problem
with outlook is strange. Anyway after renaming it, it worked. I attach the
log if this can help for this outlook problem.

I tested the conference. This works ok but I still have my problem which
exists in simple call (I can't hear the other party while he can hear me,
and while the packets are incoming properly - record works well). Have you
got an idea?

thank you for this new build.
