[jitsi-dev] GSOC 2016

#1

Hello everybody!

*Sorry, I'm not pretty good in English*

Since I notice no activity on gsoc@jitsi.org, I realize that write here would be good idea.

Would you push some tasks on GSoC 2016? I just have found the link https://jitsi.org/index.php/Development/GSoC here https://jitsi.org/Documentation/DeveloperDocumentation , seems like tasks there about GSoC 2015 and already implemented(at least, TCP on Videobridge).

I like your messenger(Jisti) and seems like you take a lot care about developing mainstream VoIP solution free for everybody, I really like it.
I would like also try to help you implement some probably missing by my opinion features(like discovery Jabber rooms).

Please, let me know if you will be on GSoC 2016 and which task could be here?

Thanks a lot for reading to here.

Alex

Thank you for your interest in the project! The ideas page is indeed quite updated (most of the ideas are already implemented). We plan to update it shortly. And, yes, we do plan to apply for participation in GSoC 2016.

Regards,
Boris

Thank you for response!

I'm glad to hear that.

BTW, here's a little mess in freenode irc last days.
People, include me, have troubles in using meet.jit.si
So I wanna ask a bit technical questions:
- Does the site is good enough to work for users which devices under NAT?
- Does the site(really, peer intercommunication) is support work without using UDP?(i.e. over TCP)
These two questions very important for me as for user.

Have a lucky day!

Also, if there are still unsolved issues, posting to this list is a good idea, as discussions in IRC might be overlooked.
