[jitsi-dev] Fwd: Re: Jitsi Tor

#1

Dear Developers,

my name is Zaur, I am a big fan of Jitsi.

I would like to ask you a few questions, if you do not mind.

1) Is Jitsi regularly supported, what are the future plans to support the project?

2) Do you use Jitsi with Tor?

The are problems when connecting using SOCKS5 protocol, on some machines also SOCKS4. Do you know anything about it?

I would like to contribute to make fixes for it, could you maybe give me some initial tips?

I thank you very much in advance for your answers!
Best regards,
Zaur.

hello zaur!
the most reliable way to estimate whether the software will be maintained
into the future is to look at the source code commits history on github, i
would say.
if some problem with socks 4 or 5 is known, it will be on the issues/bugs
list. if it is not there, you should make a reproducible test scenario for
the problem and submit it as a bug.
tips to become a dev are on the website, kind of. you just setup the
project on your machine, with git and an IDE, compile it, and then find
something you could improve; maybe try to fix known bugs.
good luck!
