Hi Guys,
I have tried Jitsi for Android and I am really please with its
functionality for XMPP. It is nice to work with something that I am
used to ;-) Using the security features of the OTR also gives a nice
feeling when using it on a mobile. I have a few questions:
1. How to hange the notification sounds for incoming messages? The
default is not very loud ;-)
2. How to start Jitsi automatically?
3. Is it possible to get sip/jingle working when one gets assigned
a private ip address range? Unfortunately in Germany we often get
IPs in the private adderess range like 10.0.0.0/24. I was not able
to do any Jingle call with it.
Thanks for the good work and cheers,
Matt
There was a thread on this on gmane.discuss, actually, about this. Apparently the list owner asked to have gmane removed. If this was due to my postings through gmane, I apologize and will lurk. Please keep the gmane gateway working.
for those asking "what is gmane?" it's an NNTP (usenet) gateway for mailing lists. Much, much, better than e-mail for mailing lists.

Currently there is no easy way for chaning notification sounds - it's
not implemented in the user interface. You would have to rebuild whole
application and replace sound file located at
jitsi-android/res/raw/incomingmessage.wav.
2. How to start Jitsi automatically?
Sorry, there is no such option currently.

It depends on your XMPP/SIP provider. You might need JingleNodes or
TURN server to have reliable connection in case of NAT/firewall
issues. Also note that we do not support ICE for SIP on Android
currently.
