[jitsi-dev] File-Transfer Problem

#1

Hi,

I've problems with the speed of file-transfers. I've tested a few
setups; between different versions of Jitsi-clients (from stable to
nightly builds). The transfer speed is horrible slow (max was at 17KB/s).
Even in the same local network it wasn't better.
Using the same server-setup with (i.e.) the Spark
<http://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/index.jsp>-client everything
works as it should.
I couldn't find other postings regarding this issue, so I wanted to post
it myself.

Server-Setup:
Ubuntu server 10.04 (64bit)
OpenFire server 3.7.1
Sun Java 1.7.0_09

Client-Setup:
Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)
Sun Java 1.7.0_09

XMPP-Clients:
Jitsi "stable" ---> to any other Jitsi version = really slow
Jitsi "stable" ---> to any other client = really slow or not working at all
Jitsi "nightly builds" (a few versions) ---> to any other Jitsi version
= really slow
Jitsi "nightly builds" (a few versions) ---> to any other client =
really slow or not working at all
Spark client (2.6.3) ---> to Spark client = works as it should
Spark client (2.6.3) ---> to any other client = really slow or not
working at all

Isn't there any "standard" which would be used by any client?

Regards
Thomas
