[jitsi-dev] Feature Request

#1

I'm using the JITSI client for connect to an Asterisk based PBX with SIP and XMPP.
When I'm using the dial pad and insert a number for dialing out I always need to choose which account should be used for phone calls.
I'm using this client within a company environment and I only want to make calls via the SIP account.
Is it possible to add an option within the client settings to use i.e. only the SIP account for phone calls?

Best regards from Bavaria!

There already is a feature to disable calling for particular accounts, but
it is not available in the UI.

In the configuration file, sip-communication.properties, there
is net.java.sip.communicator.impl.protocol.jabber.acc99887766.CALLING_DISABLED=true

Thanks fort the Feedback. The setting will work when I add this to the sip-communication.properties.
Is there an plan to add this to the UI?

Hi, Emil:

I think this is a good usability point. Of course, we want to enable calling from all accounts including XMPP (with Google Voice), but a large percentage of users would prefer to use XMPP for IM, and their SIP account for calls. Being able to disable the calling feature (with a checkbox on the GUI?) while not disabling it for IM, and taking away the "second" step of selecting an account for each and every call on the SIP account would streamline usage a lot.

Thanks.

marc.
