[jitsi-dev] Fake copy of our site with a virus on it

#1

Hello,

I wrote to some concerned parties regarding the issue with the fake copy
of jitsi.org, a site called "tijsi.com", which distributes a virus-infected
version of Jitsi, obviously in order to fool our users.

So far I submitted requests and wrote emails to the following:

Google - http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_badware/
PrivacyGuardian, the registrar of the domain tijsi.com -
http://www.privacyguardian.org/
PremiumHosting, the hosting of the website -
http://www.premiumhosting.cl/contact.php
BadWareBusters, an online anti badware community -
https://www.badwarebusters.org/community/submit

I also wrote an email to a list of abuse report email addresses at
anti-virus companies. Until now, only 5 of them sent a reply with
confirmation that they will be investigating the attached virus file from
tijsi.com, namely Kaspersky Labs (kaspersky.com), Filesclab (filseclab.com),
Dr.Web (drweb.com), eScan (escanav.com) and AhnLab (ahnlab.com)

We hope the problem will be resolved quickly.

In the meantime, please all be aware that the aforementioned website is a
fake copy and nobody should use the virus-infected file from it.

I'm happy to inform you that the website has been taken down by the
hosting company.
Kudos to the team and Emil for the quick reaction and persistence in the
communication with the providers.
