[jitsi-dev] Fail to Start First Jitsi Conference on my EC2

#1

Hello all,

I’ve been trying to start my first Jitsi conference on my Amazon EC2 instance Ubuntu 64.

After I followed all the instructions on the manual-install.md here
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/manual-install.md
The Jitsi Videobridge is now running with $ ./jvb.sh and also the Jicofo is running by $ ./jicofo.sh. Successful connection for both.

And what should I do to start the Jitsi Conference? What does it mean by
“You are now all set and ready to have your first meet by going to http://jitsi.example.com”? <http://jitsi.example.com%e2%80%9d/?>

I tried to open the URL by $ w3m http://jitsi.example.com <http://jitsi.example.com/>, but it shows “w3m: Can't load jitsi.example.com."

Any advice is welcome. Thank you so much.

You need to open it in webrtc capable browser. And also amazon
machines need some port forwarding if haven't done it already.
