[jitsi-dev] Crashing on Mac OS X 10.5.8 PowerPC - audio call

#1

Hi,

Is anybody aware of Jitsi crash when trying to place or receive audio call to another Jitsi using XMPP on Mac OS X 10.5.8 PowerPC G5?
The same version works fine on Mac OS X 10.7.2 x86.

Having a quick look at stack backtrace, something stinks in Mac Address Book integration. Disabling Mac OS X Address Book Integration in Preferences/Advanced solves the problem.

Version used: http://download.jitsi.org/jitsi/macosx/jitsi-1.0-beta1-nightly.build.3820.dmg

Hi Matevz,

I haven't personally tested on Mac OS X 10.5.8 PowerPC, but could you
please also send the crash report.

Also a fix is very much welcome!

Cheers, Yana

Hi Yana,

Attached two logs Mac OS X generates. after crash occurs. Can you have a look and point me to the right module in the code. I am really new to Jitsi, but I can try to fix the code.

As I mentioned earlier the problem goes away if if you deselect Preferences -> Advanced -> Contact Sources -> Address book -> Enable Mac OS X address search.

Thanks and all good in 2012.
