[jitsi-dev] Copy/Paste context menu missing for Add New Account dialog

#1

Hi David,

Jitsi doesn't show the standard copy/paste context menu in the "Add New Account" dialog.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy your account password from Firefox or wherever
2. From the Jitsi main menu choose File > Add New Account
3. Select a Network (such as Google Talk)
4. Right click on the "Password" text fields

Expected behavior: Jitsi should display the standard context menu for text fields

Actual behavior: Jitsi does nothing.

Discussion: Context menu should also appear for the username text field.

It's true that we only have the shortcut working (Ctrl-V / Cmd-V) and we don't handle the context menu.

Could you please open an issue on our issue tracker for that? We should maybe add the functionality directly to the SIPCommTextField, which will make it accessible in all text fields in Jitsi.

All, this is quite an easy one, so anyone interested in proposing a patch?

Cheers,
Yana

Doesn't SIPCommTextField always show a proposal text in the background? Or at least it messes up with the font-size and is therefore not commonly used.

IMO with doing anything special, the OS default context-menu should appear. At least on Windows, this contains more than copy/paste:
Cut
Copy
Paste
Cancel
And at least one more which I don't remember right now.

Cheers,
Yana
