[jitsi-dev] conference webcam and sound not working

#1

Hello,

I've created a conference, as host I log in using ldap (moderator rights
granted). I see the other participant, the text-chat is working but not
the sound and not the webcam stream of the other participant.
When clicking on its tile I get:
"PARTICIPANT B is having connectivity issues"
The other way is the same, he see's his own webcam but not me, clicking
on my tile he gets also "PARTICIPANT A is having connectivity issues"

*The browser console has also the following errors:*
Logger.js:125 [conference.js] <e.value>: CONFERENCE FAILED:
conference.setup_failed Error: ICE fail(…)
Logger.js:125[modules/util/helpers.js] <a>: Error: No opened data
channels found!(…)i @ Logger.js:125
Logger.js:125[JitsiMeetJS.js] <Object.getGlobalOnErrorHandler>:
UnhandledError: Script: null Line: null Column: null StackTrace:
Error: No opened data channels found!(…)

do these errors look familiar to someone?

It seems like the media path has failed to be established. Are your clients or the bridge behind a firewall (the latter is more likely)?

Hi George,

yes, jitsi-meet runs on a centos system, firewalld is running. My
firewall service for it:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<service>
        <short>Jitsi-Jicofo</short>
        <description>JItsi COnference FOcus</description>
        <port protocol="tcp" port="5347" />
        <port protocol="udp" port="5347" />
</service>

Do I need to open other ports as well?

Hi Leonid, the bridge needs UDP port 10000 to be open. You might also want to consider opening TCP 443 or 4443. Let us know if this helps.

Hi George,

nice, that was it, thanks.

The performance was not so good. We had frequently a greyed out and
freezed webcam, the sound was more or less ok. The setup is running on a
server with "Internet bandwidth guaranteed: Premium 300 Mbit/s".

Are there any possibilities to tweak the performance?
