I'm in the process of upgrading my environment consisting of Jitsi
Videobridge and clients with the Jitsi desktop client.
As discussed with some of you at your FOSDEM booth, we often experience
issues when setting up Videobridge (audio) conferences. Of the 5-6
attendees most of the time at least one or two does not get any sound on
the first connection attempt and the conference has to be restarted.
I will now try to start troubleshoot this using the 2.6 version of the
desktop client.
Is there any stable release of the Videobridge that would be recommended
to use together with the 2.6 client?

I finally have been able to reliable reproduce a connection issue which
I think could be related to the issues we are phasing.
When this happens, after setting up a Videobridge (audio only)
conference using the Jitsi desktop client, the attendees are connected
but does not hear anything. Being in this failure state can clearly be
seen in the call information window where the download bandwidth is 0
Kbps but the upload is 5-25 Kbps. Otherwise no error information is
given in the GUI to any of the clients.
I can reproduce the failure state with 2 clients connected using mobile
(4G) network.
On the first set up of the conference the failure always happens. Then
the attendees can hang up and the organizer calls up again, either the
failure stays one more time or it will work this time. Now looking in
the call information window it can be seen that traffic is going in both
directions for both clients.
If the clients hang up and start the conference it will always work again.
However, if one or both of the clients restart the Jitsi application the
next conference call will fail and one or two new calls would have to be
made before it works again.
Any input of what could be possible issues or what tests to proceed with
to troubleshoot this?
Has someone else experienced something like this?
Best regards,
Markus

Hey Markus,
We don't currently have a release schedule for JVB so unfortunately no,
there is no build branded as "stable" there.

So this is very strange, yesterday I could switch back and forth between mobile network and wifi and the issue was reproducable every time. Today it is not reproducable anymore
No change in software. Same VMs and everything. Could maybe be something different with the network, that's all I can think of.
