[jitsi-dev] Conference calls

#1

Hello,

I am trying to implement conference calls using libjitsi.
Are there any concrete examples, regarding conference, that include the
elementary functionality If not, could you provide me a list of classes
that I should refer to in order to implement?
I saw that such feature is under development since August 2012, but to the
best of my knowledge there has been no relevant release until now.

Best regards,
Ioannis

Jitsi is the definitive example/reference on implementing conference calls with libjitsi. The following classes in the net.java.sip.communicator.service.protocol.media may be a good point to start tracking down the details of the implementations of the support for conference calls: CallPeerMediaHandler, MediaAwareCall, MediaAwareCallConference, MediaAwareCallPeer, MediaHandler.

I saw that such feature is under development since August 2012, but to the
best of my knowledge there has been no relevant release until now.

Jitsi has supported conference calls for years now.

Thank you for your quick response. I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I
was referring to video conference calls.

Thank you again,
Ioannis

As far as the classes involved in the implementation of video conferences are concerned, the ones I specified in my previous e-mail are a good starting point.

We demonstrated video conferences at FOSDEM 2012 so we've had them for roughly an year at the very least.

We're currently preparing a second type of video conference for a release which are aided by a server side technology that we call Jitsi VideoBridge.

The latest and greatest of these should be available to test in our nightly builds.

If you are experiencing particular issues with the support for video conferences in Jitsi please be specific about them in your reports so that we can give you detailed answers, references, help.
