[jitsi-dev] Cannot remove contacts from several IM channels (while being online)

#1

Dear all,

There was an issue posted by Alexandros Papadopoulos on Sunday, 8 July 2012 at 12:52:32 +0100, dealing with the impossibility of removing contacts while being offline.

I'm currently using Jitsi (latest) on an MS WinXP (latest) and an Ubuntu Linux (v12.04) machine, and experiencing the same problem on both platforms: there are some contacts I cannot remove at all.

I observe in fact two distinct behaviors, with a few contacts on MSN, ICQ, and other traditional IM channels:
- For some contacts, I can remove them, but they pop up again, the next time I launch Jitsi.
- For some contacts, I cannot remove them, at all.

This looks like a serious issue to me, and I'm ready to help any interested developer in the testing process. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

David.

Hey David,

Dear all,

There was an issue posted by Alexandros Papadopoulos on Sunday, 8 July
2012 at 12:52:32 +0100, dealing with the impossibility of removing
contacts while being offline.

I'm currently using Jitsi (latest) on an MS WinXP (latest) and an Ubuntu
Linux (v12.04) machine, and experiencing the same problem on both
platforms: there are some contacts I cannot remove at all.

Could you please report the exact version? The problem should have been
addressed in build 4139 and later. It's not on the stable builds if
that's what you are using.

I observe in fact two distinct behaviors, with a few contacts on MSN,
ICQ, and other traditional IM channels:
- For some contacts, I can remove them, but they pop up again, the next
time I launch Jitsi.
- For some contacts, I cannot remove them, at all.

This looks like a serious issue to me, and I'm ready to help any
interested developer in the testing process. Thanks in advance for your
help!

Could you please zip your logs next time you see this [0] and open an issue?

Note that we don't have as much time for supporting MSN and ICQ as we'd
like to these days, so helping up with a patch would be most appreciated.

Cheers,
Emil
