[jitsi-dev] Camera image only in thumbnail (maybe issues with authentication?)

Hi, Jitsi team!

I just updated the testing packages to these versions:

jicofo [1.0-388-1 -> 1.0-389-1]
jitsi-meet [1.0.2658-1 -> 1.0.2664-1]
jitsi-meet-prosody [1.0.2463-1 -> 1.0.2468-1]
jitsi-meet-web [1.0.2463-1 -> 1.0.2468-1]
jitsi-meet-web-config [1.0.2463-1 -> 1.0.2468-1]

And the image captured by the camera is shown in the thumbnail instead
of on the big screen.

The Chromium error console shows no errors during the session but when
leaving the room a message appears saying "connection failed" and the
error console shows at this moment:

Logger.js:125 [conference.js] <e.value>: CONFERENCE FAILED:
conference.connectionError

Maybe a problem with authentication? I ask this because the colored
avatar is not shown in the left button menu but a black silhouette and I
noticed this also the times the user was not authenticated.

Can you reproduce this behavior?

Can you check jicofo logs on startup? Are there any errors?

I restarted Jicofo but I don't see errors in the startup. I send the log
to you privately.

Then, I created a room and joined it after having entered my
credentials. For a moment everything works fine and the capture of the
camera is seen in the foreground with the thumbnail in black, but then
the "Unfortunately something went wrong. We're trying to fix this"
screen is shown and the video in the foreground is lost and it is the
thumbnail that shows the video of the camera like in the screenshots
that I showed you.

I also attach the log of jicofo when this happens. At this moment, when
I click on the button to leave the room, the message "Connection failed"
is shown on the web and the Jicofo log doesn't add new entries at this time.

From this moment, every time that I join to the "testing" room, the
video is shown in the thumbnail instead of in the foreground and when
leaving the room the message "Connection failed" is displayed.

Hum, what about prosody do you see any errors there? This is strange. You
can try restarting prosody...

Hi, Damian/Pawel.

There should be more details in the JS console.

Hmmmm... I had restarted Prosody some times and it is working now. I'm
not sure what happened. I will continue testing it just in case.

By the way, I've noticed that if I open Etherpad, the video changes to
be displayed in the Thumbnail, but when I leave Etherpad, the video is
shown in both the foreground and the thumbnail. Maybe this could
increase the use of bandwidth.

I have also noticed it in meet.jit.si. I'm not sure if you were notice
that so I just mention it just in case.
