Expected behavior of Jitsi
In an ongoing call, I expect that pressing the call recording button would lead to a pop-up notification and a save file.
Actual behavior of Jitsi
In an ongoing call, pressing the call recording button doesn't do anything: No pop-up notification about the starting of the recording, no file is saved etc. Otherwise the call is carried out normally.
Additional information
The call recording feature used to work for me. The last recorded call is from 2013-10-15, but from 2013-10-17 on it doesn't work anymore. The behavior is reproducible.
File format for Call Recording is set to mp3.
Changing the Folder for saving the recording, restarting as well as reinstall Jitsi didn't change the behavior.
I am frequently updating to the newest stable release.
There was a similar situation in 2011: http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/dev/2011-May/000377.html
The 2.2 version is about 6 months old now so if things suddenly
stopped working, then something must have changed in your
environment. Could it be that there was no space left on your storage
decie, or could it be that Jitsi did not have the permissions
necessary to write in that location?
