[jitsi-dev] Building ffmepg & x264 for 64bit windows

#1

Hi,
I give up! I've been trying to build FFMpeg, X264, Lame on Windows targeting x64 so that I can rebuild the jnffmpeg dll. I have tried the following approaches:-

1. MINGW32 + Intel Compiler for x264 & MSVC for the rest.

2. MINGW32 + MINGW64.

3. CygWin with MINGW64 packages.

All have failed for various reasons. At this stage I don't really care how but I really need to just get a functioning build environment for building this dll for Win64.

Would someone who has managed this be able to tell me how they do this and what compiling environment they use? I'm starting to lose my marbles here :). Maybe it would be easier to run this in a Linux VM?
Regards,
James

Hi,

we are using cygwin and mingw-w64 from tdm-gcc for building ffmpeg binaries
for Windows x64 and following the README file you can find in the
libjitsi/src/native/ffmpeg.
The versions that were used for latest binaries are: FFmpeg 1.0, x264 is
snapshot-20120928-2245-stable, lame is 3.99.5.
