[jitsi-dev] Build 2.5.5140 offline contact issue

#1

Hi Developers,

All my contacts are visible even though I have selected to show only online
contacts in tools > "Show offline contacts". This occurred with the nightly
5140 and was not a problem on Friday.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks,
jungle

Hi,

We added new functionality called Recent conversations, the contacts
shown there are those you contacted last, and they are shown no matter
online or offline filter is selected, this was changed at Friday. Do
you mean those contacts?
If you want you can switch that off from general configuration.

Hi Damian,

You're right and I overlooked that. What was confusing me is that there was
a chat room on the recent conversation but that was from December, and
there was another chat from early December so I thought it was showing all
my offline contacts.

The recent conversations is really handy, but is there a way to limit how
recent conversation are?

Speaking of recent chats, could you please see what it would take to clear
recent call history? I don't know if call history continues to climb or if
it's eventually pruned when it reaches a certain amount but it would be
really like to delete all calls or even an option to select to delete some.
As of now, they are on there forever.

Thanks,
j

You can control this through a configuration property:
net.java.sip.communicator.impl.msghistory.contactsrc.MSG_NUMBER
Currently it has the value of 10, 10 recent messages to be shown.

Speaking of recent chats, could you please see what it would take to clear
recent call history? I don't know if call history continues to climb or if
it's eventually pruned when it reaches a certain amount but it would be
really like to delete all calls or even an option to select to delete some.
As of now, they are on there forever.

Those shown in the UI are limited, all calls are saved in history, you
can delete it by stopping Jitsi and removing the following folder
history_ver1.0/callhistory from Jitsi home folder. Removing individual
records or all of the from the UI is not currently possible.
