[jitsi-dev] Bug report - search field isn't long enough for the French translation...

#1

Is this worth raising an issue for?

*Problem*

When set to French, the default text in the search field is too long to
display.

Initially, the text reads ‘Saissez un nom ou un’.

After using the search field, deleting the contents and changing focus to
another UI element, the rext reads ‘un nom ou un numéro’.

*Desired Behaviour*

* *

Any of the following:

· Larger box when language is French

· Smaller text

· Shorter phrase with same meaning

· Ellipsis mark if text is too long, and full message in hovertext.
(Currently no hovertext at all).

*System Details*

* *

Windows 7 Professional SP1 (64-bit)

Jitsi 1.0-build.3967 (64-bit)
System locale set to United Kingdom.

Hey Tom,

Is this worth raising an issue for?

Yes, could you please open a ticket? Not sure if and when we'll be able
to have a look but it will be good to have it logged.

You may also add a line that says that stretching the window allows for
the whole text to appear and could hence be considered as a workaround.

Thanks,
Emil
