[jitsi-dev] borderless windows

#1

Hi

As you can see in the attached screenshot of my desktop (XUbuntu 12.04
32-bit), when exiting a conversation that has an ongoing file transfer
the popup window is borderless, the confirmation buttons are not
displayed and the user can't do much more than blindly hit "enter" and
hope the right button is hit.

Similarly, when I attempt to close a chat window that has had a recent
incoming chat message, I get a borderless (and mis-sized) window that
has very similar characteristics (expands beyond visible desktop,
can't see the buttons to click).

I believe this qualifies as a GUI bug.

Cheers

Alex

Hi Alexandros,

These windows are not borderless but their height is greater than your screen size. Normally, this display bug has been resolved with build #4005 (svn revision #9541).

Can you check that your current jitsi version is at least equal to this build?

Regards,
Vincent

Hi Vincent

I can confirm the bug is still present on build 4124 on Ubuntu Linux.

FYI a Win7 laptop I have handy with Jitsi build 4103 does not exhibit
this behaviour.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

Finally, I am able to reproduce it.

For a non-sent message:
- I was always using the key shortcut to close the chat window. Thus the warning message is at the right size.
- But the problem appears when clicking on the window manager "close" button of the chat window.

I will take a look at it in the following days.

Best regards,
Vincent
