[jitsi-dev] Automate creation of conference room with certain features enabled

#1

Hi, Jitsi team!

Is it possible to automate the creation of a conference room in such a
way that it has the following features enabled?

1) Everyone starts muted.
2) Everyone follows the moderator.
3) End the meeting when the moderator leaves.

By the way, what does "follows the moderator" mean? I'm not sure if it's
the same as (3).

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Daniel

No, that’s not currently possible.

It will make other participants focus on the same participant that the moderator is focusing on.

Thanks for confirm. Although it is not possible with the core system,
there may be some other approach to implement this automatically in a
second stage, after having created the room. For example, maybe I could
implement (1) and (2) using Selenium + PhatomJS, although I think for
this I will need that access be recognized by Jitsi Meet as coming from
a moderator (maybe using a cookie). What do you think?

By the way, what does "follows the moderator" mean? I'm not sure if it's

It will make other participants focus on the same participant that the
moderator is focusing on.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess you mean the participant in the
foreground, right?

Thanks for your time.

Kind regards,
Daniel

You could do it via some external signaling system. But you’d need the moderator to join first in order to set the settings.

Yes.
