[jitsi-dev] Adding jicofo to Openfire videobridge plugin?

#1

The Videobridge project provides an Openfire plugin. This plugin wraps the
Videobridge component, but does not appear to contain the jicofo (focus)
component.

Shouldn't it?

When an (Openfire) admin is looking for an Openfire plugin, instead of
using the external videobridge component, that admin probably doesn't want
to run an external jicofo component, right?

An alternative approach would be to create an Openfire plugin for jicofo,
similar to the videobridge plugin, but that would require an admin to
install two plugins, which feels like overhead to me.

Thoughts?

Hi,

It would make sense to have different component plugin for jicofo in
order to minimize maintenance and make upgrading a component easier.
But in this case there should be an option for plugins to depend on
each other.
But anyway jicofo and jitsi-videobridge has common library
dependencies so it is ok to make it the same plugin. But then maybe we
should rename that plugin to jitsi-meet and include and the meet code
in there with all dependencies and later when we want to add and the
sip functionality add and jigasi in there. This was my approach when I
was looking at implementing this an year and a half ago.
