Jibri recording stopped randomly after few minutes

Hi there,

I’m running Jitsi and Jibri on the same server (4 vcpu, 8g of memory).

Jibri recording seems to be ok

$ find /opt/recordings/tmp/
/opt/recordings/tmp/
/opt/recordings/tmp/vnomixwyunfuhoas
/opt/recordings/tmp/vnomixwyunfuhoas/metadata.json
/opt/recordings/tmp/vnomixwyunfuhoas/cognitivenamesseparateas_2021-05-18-14-07-42.mp4
$ ls -hl /opt/recordings/tmp/vnomixwyunfuhoas/cognitivenamesseparateas_2021-05-18-14-07-42.mp4
-rw-r--r-- 1 jibri jibri 27M May 18 14:32 /opt/recordings/tmp/vnomixwyunfuhoas/cognitivenamesseparateas_2021-05-18-14-07-42.mp4

My problem is that the recording stopped randomly after few minutes, 10 minutes and 20 minutes for the last tests.

Videos are not always readable.

Thanks for your help

It seems a crash… Check the RAM status while recording

You’re right

I found some related topics, I’ll try to find a way to reduce memory usage.

I observed this issue when CPU is poor (especially on shared hosts) and ffmpeg starts to use RAM more aggressively when it cannot process the frames quickly

You can scale down the recording to 720p resolution. The latest Jibri defaults to 1080p, which is more resource-intensive.

Thanks your replies, I’ll check that.
