Jibri recording Fails after connecting to conference Page

Hi,

I successfully installed jtisi but recording won’t work.

The environment, 2 Server, one for jisti-meet and the second for jibri.
My first Problem was that the certificate of jitsi-meet was not complete, after fixing that issue the recorder can access the jitis-meet confernce but the following error ocures.

any Idea? If I copy the URL from the Log to connect direct with my Browser I’m getting into the conference.

Thanks

Your jibri instance cannot access your deployment for some reason.

Hi, thanks for the very quick answer.

I can see the access of the recording server in the ngnix.log of the meet server.

And the recorder is fetching more files than the startpage, so in my opinion it has to be connected.

So I have noch idea what part can run into a timeout.

The Last Line of the log is showing that the recorder side is closing the connection.
I found the log of the browser in /var/log/jitsi/jibri/browser.0.txt and pushed it on https://pastebin.com/tdMsxJib

If I can interprete the log correct, everything works fine until line 4330

any suggestion or idea?

Thanks

It’s possible that it ‘connected’ in some form, but took longer than 30 seconds to join the conference, as we wait not only for the page to load, but until APP.conference._room.isJoined(); is true

Hi,

thanks for your answer.

I don’t think that we have a problem with a real timeout because of loading time. In my Brwoser I can’t look as fast as the call is joined.

In the last Days I’ve done 2 complete new setups with the stable and the unstable release with the same issue.

Here is what I have done:

All based on debian 10

two Hosts

  1. meet.my-jitsi.service - IP 123.123.123.56
  2. recorder.my-jitsi.service - IP 123.123.123.57
No NAT between the Hosts and the internet

Installation from the stable debian repo “deb https://download.jitsi.org stable/” on both machines

on the first host with IP 123.123.123.56

apt-get -y install jitsi-meet

on the second host with IP 123.123.123.57

This still points at a timeout when Jibri is trying to join the call. Have you verified that the machine running Jibri has proper network access to your call page? Testing that from there might give you some clues.

Hi,

is this an adequate test? if yes it works.

root@recorder:~# curl https://meet.my-jitsi.services/http-bind?room=test123

It works! Now point your BOSH client to this URL to connect to Prosody.

For more information see Prosody: Setting up BOSH.

root@recorder:~#

Thanks

What resources does the jibri machine has, cpu and ram?

32GB RAM
8 Xeon Gold Cores
120 GB SSD Storage >60.000 IO/s

And this is just for jibri running?

I had seen such a behavior when jibri/chrome is running on a VM with 1 or 2 GB of ram, it needs at least 4, I would say, preferably 8.

yes, on this host only jibri is running
and the other host on which is meet running has exaclty the same hardware setup

If one of you wants access to the system, i’ll make a clone and deploy it in a testing environment. Maybe it’s easier to debug with direct access.

@eazyadm do you have DNS entry for meet.my-jitsi.service with https available? So is URL https://meet.my-jitsi.service really available? In my setup, I have problems starting Jibri, because the same url https://meet.jitsi is not available and Jibri tries to access it, failing afterwards

Hi,

yes
meet.my-jitsi.service is going to 123.123.123.56
and
recorder.my-jitsi.service is going to 123.123.123.57

so only the internal records like auth.meet.my-jitsi.service or interal.auth.meet.my-jitsi.service are not resolvable by a dns server

@eazyadm thanks, the other question - is SSL certificate for https://meet.my-jitsi.service self-signed? How do you setup HTTPS in there?
What component of the system https://meet.my-jitsi.service points to? prosody? jitsi-meet web UI?

Hi,

it is a comodo certificate and installed including the complete Trustchain. A missing intermediate certificate was my first problem, this ist fixed.

I think both components are listening to meet.my-jitsi.service. please have a look to the configs which i posted.

Should xmpp and meet run on different FQDNs ?

Thanks
