Jibri doesn't show some video streams in YouTube live stream

We’re unable to see a few tiles (no video stream, just the avatar) in YouTube live stream (the layout is in TILE_VIEW). I tried monitoring the Jitsi Meet server and Jibri but couldn’t get anything out of it. In addition, even some participants don’t see others’ tiles.

The Jibri instance is running on a separate c5a.xlarge on AWS.

Please let me know if any additional information is required.

I think this issue is not directly related with jibri. Probably some jitsi configs limit the number of tiles.

Is the video icon of the remote participant enabled or disabled?

No, we’re using stable-5963.

IIRC there are some bugs in the old JVB which cause similar issues

Ah, I see. I’ll switch to the latest stable (stable-6433) and see.

As you can see, the last participant’s video stream isn’t there and they do have their video enabled.

No, I didn’t try before. I’ll try switching to default for maxFullResolutionParticipants.

Do those videos show up in the actual meeting (without livestreaming)?

@Freddie Yeah, they do to some participants.

@emrah I set the maxFullResolutionParticipants to default and it worked fine for the last stream. I’ll do a couple of more to be sure. I’ll report back with the results.

The issue still exists. However, now the video stream keeps coming and going at random intervals.

I don’t think your problem is Jibri. You should first make sure all participants in your meetings can see all enabled video feeds. If some can’t, something’s wrong. Jibri is merely another participant in the meeting; it broadcasts what it sees. So if like any other participant, it can’t see the video, it can’t broadcast (livestream) it.

Agreed. I did investigate the server logs and instance metrics, but didn’t find anything. Do you have any pointers regrading what should specifically I look for?
