Is it a way to

Im sure we/you are all working to build server for “social distanciation” . Its an hard rush :frowning:

is it a way and how :

=> limit the video bandwidth ?

I use (/etc/jitsi/meet/xxxxxxxx-config.js:

 // Sets the preferred resolution (height) for local video. Defaults to 720.
 resolution: 480,

 maxFps:15,

// w3c spec-compliant video constraints to use for video capture. Currently
// used by browsers that return true from lib-jitsi-meet's
// util#browser#usesNewGumFlow. The constraints are independency from
// this config's resolution value. Defaults to requesting an ideal aspect
// ratio of 16:9 with an ideal resolution of 720.
 constraints: {
     video: {
         aspectRatio: 16 / 9,
         height: {
             ideal: 480,
             max: 480,
             min: 240
         }
     }
 },

=> To set the default client webcam resolution to standard and not HD ?

=> Have a good resolution for screenshare only ?

=> Limit the total number of user on a server,
==> by Static maxnumber ?
==> by dynamic condition : bandwith or CPU ?

=> limit the lengh time of a conference ?

ADDED : For real fps framerate decrease, it seems you must use (look at the constraints !):
(tested on chrome 80, win10)

// Sets the preferred resolution (height) for local video. Defaults to 720.
 resolution:360,

 maxFps:15,

// w3c spec-compliant video constraints to use for video capture. Currently
// used by browsers that return true from lib-jitsi-meet's
// util#browser#usesNewGumFlow. The constraints are independency from
// this config's resolution value. Defaults to requesting an ideal aspect
// ratio of 16:9 with an ideal resolution of 720.
 constraints: {
     video: {
         aspectRatio: 16 / 9,
         height: {
             ideal: 360,
             max: 360,
             min: 240
         },
        frameRate: {
           max: 15
        }
     }
 },

You may also check out the “lastN” setting. It basically means only the N last active speakers send Video. So you will never have more than N video-streams in one conference.

by the way: please choose a better title for this topic. “how to limit video bandwith” for example.
