iOS VP9 WebRTC decode and encode?

Hi there!

Does iOS now support VP9 for WebRTC decode and encode? and if so do you know from what version of iOS?

I’m doing some testing on iPad and the Jitsi app and appears to be doing VP9.

I knew Android could do VP9, but I thought the iOS app was one of the types that would switch the JVB back to VP8?

Or am I mistaken?

iOS 15 supports VP9.

There is no “switching the JVB” to a codec. Each participant can transmit and receive a codec according to their capabilities. If all participants in a meeting can decode VP9, then any participant that can encode VP9 can use it.
