How to set Jitsi Desktop as a default application on Ubuntu?

Dear folks,

Our company switched Windows OS to Ubuntu. When a user clicks the phone number on a website, Windows OS opens the default VoIP application. You don’t need to copy and paste the phone number when using web base CRM etc.

After we switched from Windows to Ubuntu, clicking a phone number doesn’t open Jitsi Desktop and not call automatically.

Is there a trick or solution over that problem?

Best regards.

I also add a resource over how that feature works.

not to hijack your question, but how did you guys install the desktop version? I can only get jitsi-meet installed but jitsi won’t install properly.
