Hovering Over Avatar Images Doesn't Look Good

Hi,

hovering over the contact list shows the contact's avatars. Unfortunately - on Ubuntu 10.10 - it looks a bit strange when hovering over differently sized images:

SC paints an empty frame of the right size with the image somehow cropped in the left upper corner- please see attachment.

I've only seen it with Compiz, it disappears when I switch off the
desktop effects.

... so it's their fault? Any ideas to work around? Not a show stopper but Compiz is activated by default in Ubuntu.
