We’re the largest stand-up comedy livestreaming platform creating massive shows for A-List comedians. We’re looking for Jitsi Geniuses to add to our team to create the future of real-time entertainment. Learn more about us at rushtix.com
To create a “live comedy club” environment we have an unusual use case which is a hybrid of RTC and RTMP.
We’re currently using Zoom for the comedian (video/audio), producer, along with a sub-set of 20 people, we call the “Studio AUDIO-ance” who can see the comedian and be heard (laughter/applause) but their video is OFF. So the performer, producer, and Studio AUDIO-ance are all in Zoom. Then we push RTMP to Wowza for transcoding and then to an HTML5 player which livestreams on a page (viewed by thousands). The livestream audience can see/hear the comedian and also hear the studio audience. They can also chat and tip in real-time.
We’re looking to replace Zoom with Jitsi so that we can have high-quality video and audio, as well as more control over the levels/mix of the comedian and studio audience. We’d like to deploy Jitsi on AWS EC2 servers.
