GSoC 2011 is on!

#1

Hey all,

Jitsi, Kamailio (OpenSER), and SEMS have just been accepted for Google
Summer of Code 2011, so folks, get ready for another exciting summer!

You can check out the full list of accepted projects here:

http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/program/accepted_orgs/google/gsoc2011

This should give us the chance to work on some pretty exciting projects
that you can check out here:

http://gsoc.jitsi.org

We are looking forward to reading the student applications for every one
of them!

As usual, I think we can expect a high number of candidates (and then
participants) writing to this list for guidance, so let's make sure they
get the answers (or links) they need and make feel at home.

Also, let's make sure that we spread the word about Jitsi's
participation (and GSoC in general) so that students interested in the
project, know that they can get involved.

Wish you all a happy and productive summer!

Cheers
Emil

The References section of "Calls with Yahoo! Messenger" at
http://www.jitsi.org/index.php/GSOC2011/YmsgCalls contains the link
https://sip-communicator.dev.java.net/source/browse/sip-communicator/trunk/src/net/java/sip/communicator/impl/protocol/yahoo
for "The Jitsi Yahoo! Messenger implementation" which leads to a
not-found page.

Hey all,

Here's this year's GSoC Jitsi poster. Attached you'll find a pdf of the english version of the poster, as well as a modifiable vector version. In order to be sure to have the svg file rendered correctly don't forget to copy the three logos - GSoC, Kamailio and Sems in the same directory as the svg file.

Feel free to translate, print and spread the word!

Cheers,
Yana
