Get total participant in conference with REST

Hi everyone,

I have read in this forum about how to get total participants in the room. But I don’t know how it works. Maybe someone can explain step by step how to get total participants in the room?

Example:
I join in conference https://meet.jit.si/hello. I want to know how many people join in that room with the REST API.

Regards

There is no such option for meet.jit.si. There is a module you can enable if you are hosting your own deployment. https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/resources/prosody-plugins/mod_muc_size.lua

Hi @damencho

How to test it if I already enabled that module?

When you restart prosody it prints the port it listens to.

Hi @damencho,

I was enable muc_size in prosody. I check prosody port is 5269 in my deployment. How to know our module was enabled? Because I was try curl but still got an error

➜ ~ curl localhost:5269
<?xml version='1.0'?><stream:stream from='' xml:lang='en' xmlns:stream='http://etherx.jabber.org/streams' to='' xmlns='jabber:server' xmlns:db='jabber:server:dialback'><stream:error><not-well-formed xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-streams'/></stream:error></stream:stream>

➜ ~ curl localhost:5269/room-size?room=hai
zsh: no matches found: localhost:5269/room-size?room=hai

FYI, we are using prosody version 0.11

Regards

hello @damencho it my first day with you and i am interested in working on Improving Speech-to-Text in Jitsi Meet and figuring it out from where should i start contributing to this project ?

@shashikant Please do not post your questions in unrelated topics. As a start create your own deployment, install and jigasi and start using speech-to-text feature. Then the next steps is to compile jigasi from source and start running it that way, making sure it works with your deployment, so you can start modifying it and playing with the source code.

Have you solved the problem? I am the same now.

What problem your faced?

I start muc_ Size module, I open port 5280, but only sessions can access it normally. The requests of room list are internal errors. I installed it in docker version, which I don’t understand. Thank you very much!

My thread is Get total partcipant not room list. You can check this thread

Have you tried curl prosody in your server?

curl http://localhost:5280

make sure your prosody

Prosody is running!

Welcome to the XMPP world!

I can get it http://localhost :5280/session, muc_ One request of size module, but other requests are as follows: http://localhost : 5280 / room this request is an internal error and should not be a muc_ size.lua There’s something wrong with the script. Thank you!

Hello, I use docker to install jitsi meet in the LAN. When there are two people entering the room, the room will crash in about 15 seconds. Excuse me? These errors occurred in the console:
<RTCDataChannel.e.onerror>: Channel error: undefined

<Object.getGlobalOnErrorHandler>: UnhandledError: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘connectionTimes’ of null Script: https://jitsi.example.com:8444/libs/lib-jitsi-meet.min.js?v=4127 Line: 10 Column: 182753 StackTrace: TypeError: Cannot read property ‘connectionTimes’ of null

Thank you very much!

Hello, can I have your email? thank you.

Hi @rajapulau
After executing this I had a 404 error. Do you have an idea about that?

You must create a localhost in your prosody. You can check this thread Get the list of rooms

Hi @rajapulau
Thank you very much for your quick replay. I already added localhost into the prosody but the issue is the same.
