/Etherpad Installation

Hello, I installed Etherpad according to the instructions on the same box as jitsi-meet i installed on Ubuntu Server 18.04. Etherpad works well with meeting.mydomain.at:9001 so far.
in /etc/jitsi/meet/meeting.mydormain.at-config-js
etherpad_base:‘http://meeting.mydomain.at:9001
is enabled and the Button open shared document appears. However, the jitsi-meet screen remains black…
Below possibly required information:
WorkingDirectory=/opt/etherpad/local/etherpad/etherpad-lite

I followed exactly the Etherpad addition example instructions and am unsure about the syntax in:
/etc/nginx/sites-availabqle/chat.exemple.net
+++++++++++++++++
server{

Etherpad-lite
location ^~ /etherpad/local/etherpad/etherpad-lite/ {
proxy_pass http://0.0.0.0 : 9001 /;
proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr;
proxy_buffering off;
proxy_set_header Host $host;
}
}

Thank you in advance for your kind advice. Toni

Hi
Isn’t it supposed to be like this in your jitsi meet config file:
etherpad_base:‘http://meeting.mydomain.at:9001/p/’

Notice the “/p/” at the end of the etherpad address.

Greetings

Could your issue be resolved?

Hello, thank you for your inquiry, however the IP address as recommended did not solve the problem. In the moment I am busy with other priorities and will look after it, as soon I have more time to go into the topic

In proxy_pass , add http://meeting.mydomain.at:9001/

etherpad_base:‘https://meeting.mydomain.at/p/

This should work.

Sorry for the late response. Other things kept me busy. Adding
etherpad_base:‘https://meeting.mydomain.at/p/
Produced a new insert ‘Open shared document’ in the “more actions” button. Clicking the line produces a black jitsi meet window.
I confess, I do not find the proxy_pass statement and I am not using a proxy server…
both, jitsi and etherpad reside in the same box using ubuntu 18.10 server.

Thank you for your further help!

Finally solved the problem. In Adding
etherpad_base:‘https://meeting.mydomain.at/p/
it should read:
Adding
etherpad_base:‘https://meeting.mydomain.at:9001/p/
This produces an Etherpad with a randomized Number to be editet in Jitsi

Do you have a specific domain with SSL running for etherpad?

Or is it a reverse proxy as shown here,

Update: By curiosity, are you using secure rooms?

If so, how did you overcome ssl issues when using 9001 port, that brings unencrypted data (by default on etherpad).

It is a reverse proxy as shown. Etherpad is running on the same box as jitsi meet.
