"end conference" visible but nothing happens

I’m using a newly installed, working jitsi-meet using official, latest, debian packages.

Everything seems to work fine, except “End meeting for all” button in
the jitsi-meet browser.

During a conference, the button is correctly shown above the “Leave
meeting” and can be clicked, but no “event” seems to be fired, and the
prosody does not log the mod_end_conference event as expected.

Do you know if its broken or I may have missed something?

Do you have the same issue on meet.jit.si?

using meet.jit.si on my machine, the red “leave meeting”/hangup button does not show the “end meeting for all” when clicked. it just exits the conference.
