Duplicate Participants Issue + Moderator Access with JWT?

Hello Jitsi Community - I’m working on an integration and have a couple questions.

The first is that we’re experiencing an issue when one of our users joins via Jitsi Meet Javascript API using JWT. When this user joins, they see 4 duplicate participants in the conference, and they are not joined as the moderator. We also see 4 user sessions created in the jifoco logs. Other users are not able to reproduce this problem. Does anyone have any recommendations to try?

The second question is about moderators and/or privileged users. From reading around, it sounds like the first user to join a conference is considered a moderator, but I wondered if there were other considerations or options.

What privileges does a moderator currently have?
If a moderator leaves the meeting will others be ejected from the meeting?
Is it possible to include a moderator flag on the JWT object?

Any guidance on both questions would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

There are some features that depend on the moderator role(like kick and mute other participants), this is basically ‘owner’ in term of xmpp and muc.
There is no correlation between that and jwt.

The other option we use (for example meet.jit.si) is that all participants are moderators: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/resources/prosody-plugins/mod_muc_allowners.lua and when this is enabled for kick you need: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/resources/prosody-plugins/muc_owner_allow_kick.patch

The default behavior is that when moderator leaves a new moderator is randomly selected from the other participants (this is in case there is only one moderator).

Dear Damian,

Thanks vor info, but actually the problem with duplicate participants still exists, how can we terminate sessons manually or is there another way to fix this issue ?

Thanks in advance.
