[Docker Synology ] Tips

Just to let know those who are not comfortable with linux command lines that the command to Create required CONFIG directories on a synology is mkdir -p /volume1/docker/jitsi-meet-cfg/{web/letsencrypt,transcripts,prosody/config,prosody/prosody-plugins-custom,jicofo,jvb,jigasi,jibri}`

In the . env file, you must enable http redirection to https. If not, it is impossible to use camera and mic with Firefox.

Here, you can find a good tuto step by step https://www.virtualconfusion.net/jitsi-meeting-conference-on-synology-nas/
And this one is also helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD6FJEYRpsY

It all depends on the synology hardware you use.

the low to medium range ones are not really that powerful to handle the load. for small meetings it might work, but definitely not for any meetings over 5 people

Thank you for your answer masteryoda, but in fact there wasn’t any question. I’m just informing the community about issues encontered, and solutons found.
We’ve made tests with 7 people, and it was fine. In fact, the ram and processor usage didn’t overload the nas. But the upload capcities of internet connection must be sufficent.
