Do I need to subscribe to Jaas if I Self host the server?

I am new to Jitsi, just want to check with you guy Do I need to subscribe to Jaas if I Self host the server?

Short answer is No.
However if you don’t have experience in managing Jitsi you can take Jaas subscription as it can save you cost on running and managing your own server.
Optionally you can also take optional services from Jaas as recording, transcription etc.

Running your own server is useful if you have custom modifications.
