in a recent session, one particpant’s connection failed because their device ran out of power. However, the frame for this user remained in the session. After a second unintentionally interrupted session, we now have to orphan frames of this kind in the conference.
Is there any way to trigger closing these sessions or a garbage collect?
As a result, the conference remains open even when all active users leave.
Thanks for all advice.
By default bosh is used. Which prosody are you using, we had seen problems like this with prosody 0.10 … I think. You should upgrade to 0.11.
I tried running apt upgrade prosody but still stuck in 0.10.0 as it says it is the ‘latest version’.
any hints on forcing an update?
follow these steps, it will solve your issue:
echo deb http://packages.prosody.im/debian $(lsb_release -sc) main | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
wget https://prosody.im/files/prosody-debian-packages.key -O- | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install prosody
add 'Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua"' in sudo nano /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua
