Crashes everytime

Everytime a person joins the meeting crashes. I have no clue how to fix this. I am hosting with digital ocean.

Please paste you server error log here. So that I can understand your problem.

how do i get that @River97

@Mia1 There are several components in jitsi, like jicofo, jvb and jitsi-meet. You have to go to this component server log there you will see error. Copy that error and paste here.

is there a filepath for this

check service jitsi-videobridge2 status

what is the command for that

yeah you can run on instance

service jitsi-videobridge2 status

root@meet:~# service jitsi-videobridge2 status

Check the other services’ status too

systemctl status prosody
systemctl status jicofo

The logs are in /var/log/prosody/ and /var/log/jitsi/ folders.

If you can give more details about your setup, this may help. For example

  • which guide did you use for installation
  • what is your OS
  • what are the versions
dpkg -l "jitsi*"
dpkg -l prosody
dpkg -l jicofo

root@meet:~# systemctl status prosody

I did the marketplace option on digitalocean that set everything up for me.

1 GB Memory / 1 Intel vCPU / 25 GB Disk / NYC1 - Jitsi Server 2.0.6726 on Ubuntu 20.04

Services’ status seem OK but 1 GB RAM is really small and can cause random crashes. You need at least 8 GB RAM for default configuration.

AFAIK there is no built-in firewall for DO droplet, so the port forwardings should be OK.

You can check also the browser console log for errors
