Chat room always shows "Unfortunately something went wrong. We're trying to fix this..."

I set up an ubuntu instance on digital ocean and followed the directions at https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/quick-install.md. Now when I visit a chat room on the new instance for example at https://youli.work/UpperSheepBillNorth, it says “Unfortunately something went wrong. We’re trying to fix this. Reconnecting in 20 sec…”

Sometimes it shows a frame of video but then it blinks out and shows the error again.

Here are the JavaScript errors on the page:

got this exact same error too.

install in ubuntu-18.04-x86
kernel 4.15.0-22-generic

Check out this solution from @Kitsis, it seems to be working for me:

Hi @CoderSports, thanks for that. I ended up blowing away the VM because I didn’t see a way forward, but I got a successful deployment today by following exactly the steps in the video tutorial https://jitsi.org/news/new-tutorial-installing-jitsi-meet-on-your-own-linux-server/.

Yes I ran the same tutorial. I need to double check, but I think it results in the missing config referenced by @Kitsis.

I seem to be fully operational now. I am limiting everyone to only the Chrome browser, or the downloaded Electron client available here: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron/releases/tag/v2.0.0

The app is unsigned, which makes it a difficult for clients to install and update. I am going to check and see if you are permitted to compile from source. If so, I may create at least a windows signed variant.

Check jicofo logs

Hello CoderSports

my jitsi streaming is working fine but recording not working . Giving error of:-

[JitsiMeetJS.js] <Object.getGlobalOnErrorHandler>: UnhandledError: Focus error, retry after 1000 Script: null Line: null Column: null StackTrace: Error: Focus error, retry after 1000

You have a different issue and you should have created a new topic for that. But did you install Jibri? You need Jibri for recording and livestreaming.

Yes i installed jibri. but when i clicked on start recording . receive this error.

The error seems related with prosody. Do you have a third-party prosody module?

yes i have

At first, check jibri without customizing the system or without adding any third-party components

can i contact on skype? so i will clearlly show main error. because its coming when i click on start recording.
