Cannot upgrade jitsi

Hello,
tried to upgrade jitsi but I got the error:
“jitsi-meet : PreDepends: jitsi-videobridge2 (= 2.1-197-g38256192-1) but 2.1-202-g5f9377b9-1 is installed”

What will happen when I do: apt-get install jitsi-meet
Will all settings be overwritten? Do I lose all user-accounts and the passwords?

Thanks a lot
Werner

Did you update the repo info?

apt-get update

yes, I did…

Could you paste the output?

You can not upgrade while these packages are held. You need to unhold them.

Some files will be overwritten. I’m not sure what will happen to the user accounts. Normally an upgrade keeps these kind of data.

Thanks so far, I will try

Sorry, still the same problem

Is the hold list empty now?

You might want to run ‘apt --fix-broken install’ to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
jitsi-meet : PreDepends: jitsi-videobridge2 (= 2.1-197-g38256192-1) but 2.1-202-g5f9377b9-1 is installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try ‘apt --fix-broken install’ with no packages (or specify a solution).

There is something strange in this line. jitsi-meet wants to install Jitsi-videobridge2 (= 2.1-197-g38256192-1) but the more recent and up-to-date version is already installed (2.1-202-g5f9377b9-1)

Could you paste the output to sure this is the case?

dpkg -l "jitsi*"

You can try the suggested command to fix it

apt --fix-broken install

I did apt --fix-broken install before, but there was an error. Seems unhold was the key

Thank you very much!!!

Hello,
I used to upgrade my ubuntu installation with these commands from https://jitsi.org/downloads/ubuntu-debian-installations-instructions-nightly/

wget -qO - https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi-key.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c “echo ‘deb https://download.jitsi.org unstable/’ > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jitsi-unstable.list”
sudo apt-get -y update
sudo apt-get -y install jitsi-meet

I have universe enabled
sudo apt-add-repository universe
I made update & upgrades
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

also checked
apt-mark showhold
there is nothing hold…

but i still receive unmet dependencies message during install jitsi-meet

sudo apt-get -y install jitsi-meet

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

how can i fix this??

Thanks

It is a dependency problem with the Debian packages.
This is fixed in 2.0.4927-1

yes, it seems to be fixed now… working fine with the same steps…
