Bug in most recent images

Hi all,

I recently switched to using docker images from quadeare as described here since they are way more up2date than the ones provided by jitsi on docker hub. These images are based on the nightly builds from download.jitsi.org, why I post this here instead of talking to the image maintainer.

When I fire up new containers the interface is not working. Somehow the config.js portion of the web container contains an error. A freshly installed config.js contains this:

    // BOSH URL. FIXME: use XEP-0156 to discover it.
    bosh: '"https://hostname.example.com"/http-bind',

where it should look like this:

    // BOSH URL. FIXME: use XEP-0156 to discover it.
    bosh: '/http-bind',

It looks like the content of env var PUBLIC_URL get’s copied into the file, but it shouldn’t.

Cheers,
j.

solved

The bug was a quoted variable in .env that should not have been quoted. Removing the quotes so that it reads

PUBLIC_URL=https://server.example.com

fixed the problem. Sorry for the noise :cry:
